For adidas, every holiday is an excuse to go all out. And with Chinese New Year just around the corner, it’s only fitting they craft their own homage to the Year of the Tiger.
The Dame 8 here, which is but one part of a much larger picture, does just that by way of many an auspicious detail. Its colorway, while part-composed with black across the toe and side, is quickly brightened with red through much of the heel, eye stays, and midsole. Underneath and adjacent, orange serves as a replacement for gold, simultaneously doubling as a direct nod to the aforementioned zodiac. In terms of construction, sidewall cushioning is used to provide extra stability, while below a Lightweight Bounce Pro midsole is present. Rounding out the final details is a unique traction pattern underfoot that allows for full-speed stops, pivots, and quick cuts.
